Today is beautiful. The sun is shining down and marinating the ground with warmth and a sense of purpose. It is quite beautiful, yet still not a complete picture. What does it look like? I keep hearing phrases like, “just have faith” and “just be yourself”, what does that look like? This is going to be a bit of a writing mess, fair warning. Alot of thoughts will be thrown around and many never clarified. A friend and I were talking the other day about Holiness. What does it mean? There is some opposition in the body about weather or not a holy life can be lived on earth. that in itself shows that there is a bit of semantics going on here. so lets get our definition on the same plan. When you here the word “Holy” what do you think of? Perfect Clean maybe even God well, I agree those are facets of holiness and well, God is Holy, but why would the bible tell us to be holy just as our father in heaven is holy if it were not possible. So instead of that definition of Holy, I would like to offer a simpler word. So, instead of “Holy” lets say LOVE Holiness in the Old Testament is a bit harsher then the New Testament and to many in the body live out of an OT definition as opposed to what I believe to be the NT definition,LOVE! You see in the OT there was not yet a Ebenezer, or a “Stone of the help”, you know, JESUS, the cornerstone So, many people saw the law as salvation, but the law was actually meant to be means of one discovering the need for salvation, which was coming and now has come,JESUS There is also a common linking of the ideal of righteous and holy being the same thing. I do not believe it is, but we can sort that out later…I warned you! Back to holiness. We can be holy, not perfect, but LOVED. You see, thanks to Jesus, we can be Holy because HE made a way for perfection. He made a way to the Father. It is called the “HOLY Spirit, haha! He leads into all truth and guides us in the way of holiness. I,Ian Finlay am not Holy on my own, but because of this Love I am! Because of Jesus, God never changes his mind about me, I am perfect and loved for who I am! Then out of a response to that Love towards me, I will actually start acting Holy, because of Jesus’ love! So, I guess I am re-introducing myself today. This will offend some of you, but it’s who I am and frankly it is who you are too, maybe you just need to re-introduce yourself! Hello World! I am Ian Finlay! Holy because of Jesus. I am a son all of creation has been waiting for. Oh! and world, I have a big family of many other Holy,Sons and Daughters of Creation that want to introduce themselves to you! I just wanted you to know, creation, WE ARE HERE! To show you the things of LOVE!

3. calvinhanson said: We are all priests thanks to Jesus. We are set apart. I think “set apart” is a good definition of holy. I don’t mean be a hermit, but we can go in the opposite spirit of evil at all times. In the world but not of it.
